The waste \u00a0material was used to create dead hedging around which was planted various species of wildlife friendly\u00a0native\u00a0hedging including hawthorn<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(<\/span>Crataegus\u00a0<\/span>monogyny<\/em>), blackthorn<\/strong>\u00a0(<\/span>Prunus spinosa<\/em>), hazel<\/strong> (<\/span>Corylus avellana<\/em>), common dogwood<\/strong> (<\/span>Cornus sanguinea<\/em>) and field maple<\/strong> (<\/span>Acer campestre<\/em>). \u00a0 At the same time a number of overshadowing Scots pine were felled. The next picture is of the same spot after the rhododendron was cleared.
