During the 2023/24 winter the top section of Marjorie’s Path began to show signs of serious erosion. Over several visits to the wood in the spring and summer of 2024 , successive logs were laid crosswise to form low steps, with the spaces filled with rubble and top dressed with wood chippings.

 

 

The remedial work was carried out in two areas, above and below the ‘hairpin’ bend in the footpath.

 

 

 

 

In due course more steps will be added to join the two sections.
